November 2011 - Seasons, the story of a woman in her 40's recovering from and
working through a divorce, establishing a new life, and struggling with family
demands is complete and now going through serious editing.
When Valerie's husband "needs space" just as her twin daughters leave home for
college, she goes into a tailspin. When he marries a much younger woman and she
discovers the affair started during their marriage, her emotional roller coaster jars
her into action. As with most of my novels, I like sub-plots that give my characters
fuller lives like establishing a career and meeting a new man, but how often in our
experience does the old life continue to interfere? Can't wait to share Valerie's story
with you. I'm working as hard as my own busy life can handle.
My second tour as President of the El Paso Writers' League, is drawing to an end.
It's been a great year and one filled with creative challenges. Torn between my
own to-do list and providing leadership and inspiration for local authors, my writing
suffered, but I did manage to enter poetry, stories and plays for the EPWL annual
writing contest. My publication goal for Seasons is behind schedule. Stay with me,
please.
My imagination departed from "modern relationship genre" with an exciting foray
into futuristic fantasy with a sci-fi that is also in progress. As a "Gemini" my split
personality has been prominent. I pray that the coming year will be creative and
productive.
As usual, without my husband's loving support, none of this would be possible!
